CLE (Continuing Legal Education)

The ILCBA is an accredited CLE provider for Illinois MCLE. The ILCBA’s CLE program offers attendees informative, relevant and entertaining seminars in convenient downtown Chicago locations. The registration costs are extremely competitive and the seminars are held on court holidays.

The Supreme Court of Illinois Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Board website offers detailed MCLE information for attorneys licensed in Illinois.

For information about professional responsibility ethics credit, visit the Commission on Professionalism web site: www.ilsccp.org.

Please contact the ILCBA if you are interested in presenting a CLE program/topic or would like to recommend a presenter for future CLE programs.

Out of State Credit Information

MCLE Rules vary from state to state.  To determine whether an attorney may claim CLE credit in another state based on accreditation in Illinois depends on the MCLE Rules in the state in which the attorney is licensed to practice.

It is necessary for the attorney to contact the other states' MCLE regulating agencies to determine whether an attorney may earn CLE credit based on approval in Illinois and if so, the steps necessary for the attorney to claim credit.

Click on the following link to a Directory found on the CLEreg's website that contains a map showing states that have MCLE requirements.  https://www.clereg.org/directory.  When you hover on an MCLE state, contact information for that state's MCLE regulating agency will appear on your screen.
