Session 1: Parting Thoughts from the Bench
Honorable Stephen A. Swedlow
Judge, Circuit Court of Cook County
Law Division
Judge Stephen Swedlow most recently presided over Calendar 5 of the Cook County Law Division Tax and Miscellaneous Remedies Section in Courtroom 2503, but was recently transferred to Calendar Q Law Division Commercial Calendar Section in Courtroom 2007. Judge Swedlow earned his undergraduate degree from Miami University of Ohio, and his J.D. from The Ohio State University. Before his appointment to the Bench, he practiced law for more-than 25 years at Latham & Watkins, Swedlow & Associates and Korein Tillery, and eventually at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, where he was the Managing Partner.

Sari Montgomery has spent her more than 30-year career in the Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility field. She began her career as Litigation and Senior Litigation Counsel with the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC).
Since 2010, Ms. Montgomery ahs defended lawyers and judges facing disciplinary and sanctions proceedings, and represents bar applicants in the Character and Fitness process. Read more.

Honorable Daniel P. Duffy
Law Division – Tax & Miscellaneous Remedies Section
Judge Duffy was appointed to the bench in April 2014 and is presently assigned to the Cook County Law Division's Tax & Miscellaneous Section, where he presides over a call princippaly involving detinue and replevin actions, confessions of judgment, administrative appeals and condemnation cases.
Previous to his present assignment, Judge Duffy presided over a jury trial call in the First Municipal Division. Read more.

Nathan D. Willner, Esq.
Vice President of Government Affairs
National Creditors Bar Association
Nathan Wilner is an accomplished attorney with over two decades of experience in the creditors rights industry. He currently serves as the VP of Government Affairs at the National Creditors Bar Association (NCBA).
Among the multiple awards received, Nathan is the recipient of the prestigious 2022 Leaders in Law Award given by the Maryland State Bar Association and the Daily Record. Read more.
